Favorite Cozy Games from 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, I thought it would be the perfect time to reflect on the cozy games I have come to really enjoy that year. Some of these titles listed have relaxing gameplay, wonderful experiences and touching moments that made the year fun and special.

Palia is a game that I really come to enjoy especially when it comes to a welcoming online community. I have only had good experiences while playing this MMO. In Palia, you can run around beautiful landscape, craft, farm, fish and my favorite, decorating! This is probably the first MMO that let you connect with players with no fighting.

I know, I know… Not exactly what you were expecting from this list huh? Well Baldur’s Gate has been my go to cozy game last year. I love the the fighting mechanics, the deep character interactions and some peaceful exploration. I also had the chance to play with friends and it has always been so fun! So yes, Baldur’s gate is surprisingly cozy!

Now this game caught me by surprise! I had the privilege of receiving a review key for this game and streamed it on Twitch! It’s one of those hidden indie games where you interact with the charming locals, solve some mysteries, and enjoy the soothing life by the sea. The style is hand-drawn and has such a warming and relaxing soundtrack.

So in this cute game, you play as a ghost that helps the residents find love. It’s like a management game and the progress to seeing the different residents interact together is so rewarding and wholesome! Kinda like a dating sim, but you are the wingman.

So Fields of Mistria is a delightful farming sim with a magical twist: it’s set in an adorable valley where seasons blend seamlessly. In this game you can make your own character, design your farm and decorate your house! And the graphics are just too cute!

I remember playing the demo to this game and knew I had to get it when it came out!
For those who need help to focus or ease some stress, I definitely recommend this game. It’s pretty much a gamified focus tool where you can customize your own character, your space and have a cute little spirit pet! I used this all time for either content creation or chores I needed to get done!

This is a very adorable sandbox game where you build a cute little town that is inhabited by these super adorable gourd-shaped creatures. There isn’t really an objective to the game, hence it being a sandbox game, so you don’t have to feel pressured to do anything. You can just relax and build the town and watch those little guys interact in it. There is also a feature for Twitch interactive where you can have viewers be gourdlets as well!

We have a visual novel on the list! This romance-fantasy visual novel is very much narrative driven with some great characters. I was so happy when the devs gave me a key to stream it! The love interests in the game are a breath of fresh air, especially with how some characters can be stereotyped. The MC of the game is enrolled at Celestia Academy uncovering their heritage. I don’t want to spoil but the story is pretty good so far!

In Europa, you explore a stunningly rendered floating island as a robot rediscovering nature. The calming exploration, breathtaking vistas, and gentle puzzles make this a game that invites players to pause and appreciate the beauty around them.

This was another game I received on Lurkit that took me by surprise. I have to admit, I am not the best when it comes to finishing games on stream, but this drove me to keep going until the end! It’s a narrative adventure about a kid named Mark and his life in a Philippines-inspired world. The game has some amazing cinematic visuals, mini-games, themes of friendship, love, and loss. I was surprised at how much comfort I got from this game.

These cozy games from 2024 reminded me of the power of video games to provide comfort, connection, and creativity. Whether you’re seeking to relax, explore, or immerse yourself in heartfelt stories, there’s something on this list for every cozy gamer. What were your favorite cozy games during 2024?
